Neuroscience research shows that the only way we can change the way we feel is by becoming aware of our inner experience & learning to befriend what is going on inside of us. This process is called “interception” which is Latin for looking inside. Our emotional brain takes a back seat to our rational brain. To combat these issues it would make enormous difference if teachers, army sergeant, foster parents, and mental health professionals we’re thoroughly trained in emotional regulation techniques.
