Singapore trip

January 11, 2016 by Chad Leave a Comment

These past three weeks have been amazing but tiring. The first week had to do with Christmas. The second week had to do with a wonderful Singapore trip. I learned so much in Singapore. The few things that I would like to say about Singapore are as follows:

  1. Super clean:  Having a high density of (e.g., roughly 5.5 million) people would make a person to believe that this country is filthy. I barely saw any trash.  along those same lines  crime rate was especially low. One striking difference that I learned about was that having a gun is illegal. Maybe the United States should adopt some of Singaporeans ways of life.
  2. Different people: There are many different cultures predominantly in Singapore in the city state. Chinese, Malay, Indian, and Western influences are all palpable there, making for a mix of traditions and local customs.
  3. Food:  with the different people comes different foods.  I would have to say is if you ever have a chance to venture to Singapore go there and try every restaurant.
    Baked duck
    Cooked eel
Amaebi (sweet shrimp), tako (octopus), ikura (salmon roe), sake (salmon), ika (squid), unagi (River eel), maguro (tuna), and scallop.

This upcoming week I have a job interview to substitute teach in Green Bay this Monday and potentially having to teach the rest of the week.
